Tom began writing and performing as an openly gay singer/songwriter in the 1970s. His GAY NAME GAME ( 1979 ) and ALL-AMERICAN BOY ( 1982 ) are among the earliest gay recordings. His musicals TEN PERCENT REVUE and GET USED TO IT have played Off-Broadway and around the U.S.

He has written for choruses, cabaret and musical theater. His other musicals are SIXTY YEARS WITH BRUHS & GEAN and ELEANOR & HICK. BRUHS & GEAN was commissioned by the New York City Gay Men's Chorus and first performed at Carnegie Hall. It was later expanded into a full-length piece. ELEANOR & HICK is in development with playwright Peg Stafford and director Darren Katz.

Tom´s song "Lesbian Seagull" was in the film "Beavis and Butt-head Do America" ( Paramount/MTV ) and on the platinum-selling soundtrack ( Geffen ) . Recent work includes THE TEACHINGS OF CHAIRMAN RICK for Philly Fringe 2005 and AFTER GUANTÁNAMO for Philly Fringe 2006. His cabaret TRUNK SHOW with KACZOROWSKI and WEINBERG will be in the 2008 Fringe.

Tom received the 2006 OUTmusic Heritage Award.
